Hi! This year brings me full circle to my beginnings in Northville in 1995, when I taught band in both middle schools, and the high school. This year is exciting because we get to launch our very first Orchestra program–something I have been working on and advocating for since 2006. In my years in Northville, I have had the honor to teach all levels of instrumental music, including jazz and marching band, AP Music Theory, and several music clubs. I have also taught English 9, English 10, and currently, College Writing and Literature. My other new adventure is as an Online Mentor at the NHS!

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Music with a major in music education, specializing in instrumental music, and a Master of Music Education, both from Wayne State University, and a minor In English from Madonna University. I am currently working on my dissertation to complete a DMA (Doctor of Musical Arts) from Boston University.

In addition to my high school experience, I have served as adjunct faculty at Wayne State University, have been published in the Michigan Music Educators Journal twice and have presented at the Michigan Music Conference three times. I also teach private lessons on woodwinds and piano, and serve as an adjudicator for Solo and Ensemble and Marching Band.

I live in Canton with my husband, Chris, and have four children: Stephen, Julia, Justine and Gina, and four cats. Long story – two are rescues from this summer.

I am looking forward to being back at the middle schools, helping online kids achieve their dreams, and still getting to teach band and English at the High School!! I have the best of ALL worlds, and feel like the luckiest teacher on earth. Can’t wait to meet all of you!
